EdgeTrend guide
A practical way to read candidates and confirmed trend shifts as different information.
Begin with defaults. Show BUY / SELL level markers controls signal visibility; Show status panel controls the panel. Marker Style changes colors, sizes and shapes, not profitability. Record the symbol, exchange and timeframe, and change one setting at a time.
Open Create alert → select EdgeTrend under Condition → choose a condition such as EdgeTrend BUY Lv1 → select Once per bar close → choose notifications → create. Configure conditions separately. Existing alerts do not automatically follow changed settings, symbols or timeframes; recreate them for the new configuration. Alert limits and features depend on your TradingView plan.
BUY and SELL labels indicate areas where configured conditions overlap. A higher tier does not predict the future or require an immediate trade.
BULL and BEAR SHIFT use a separate structure-confirmation process and may appear after an earlier candidate label.
Find the candidate, check the current shift state and prior support or resistance, then apply your own volume, timing, risk, and invalidation rules.
BUY/SELL Lv1, Lv2 and Lv3 conditions use the completed candle. A close-confirmed candidate is not an instruction to trade or a guaranteed reversal. Review the alert configuration and the actual confirmation candle.
SHIFT uses a confirmed pivot and subsequent structure conditions. Its diamond is drawn back at that earlier pivot after confirmation, not at the time the pivot first occurred. A historical diamond therefore does not prove that a trader could have acted on that pivot candle.
A new same-direction SHIFT can replace the prior SHIFT line and label. The live ATR rail can also update with price. Close-confirmed BUY/SELL candidates, retrospective SHIFT drawings and the live rail must not be treated as identical or universally non-repainting.
